My name is Gerry Dowds, I am a qualified counsellor in private practice. I have been working in a bereavement role for 10+ years. I have also worked as a listener and Supervisor for Cruse Bereavement, which involved supporting people through their grief.

As well as supporting people through baby loss and adolescents through anxiety or depression.

I also offer general and couples counselling. The most important thing for me is that my clients feel they are able to sit with me and know that there is a safe space without judgement.

I am generally based in the Shirley area of Southampton and can offer a free initial session to see if I am the right fit for you.

Helen worked as a children’s cancer nurse for twenty years before training to be a counsellor/psychotherapist. Her knowledge and experience of the care of sick and dying children can provide a valuable insight into the many challenges faced by families who experience the loss of a child. Helen is a highly experienced counsellor who offers sessions in person, by telephone or secure video call (Zoom).
